Porsche wants the Turbo models to be instantly recognizable everywhere they go. That is why they are getting the Turbonite look. The first model to receive the exclusive crest and finishes will be the Panamera Turbo.
Porsche unveiled the first 911 Turbo at the 1974 Paris Motor Show. It raised some eyebrows with its acceleration time from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in 5.5 seconds. It was the fastest production car at the time of its launch. Fifty years later, the turbo Porsches still awe customers and enthusiasts. Now, they are getting a distinctive look to set them apart from the rest of the lineup.

Back in June 2023, Porsche updated the brand's crest in time for the 75th anniversary, making it look modern, but without losing its character. It was the result of a three-year process, with designers racing to find the best solution.

Now, the time has come for the Turbo lineup to get a badge with a new finish, a metallic grey tone, which replaces the traditional gold one. It gets the Turbonite look, created by the experts from the Porsche Color & Trim division, those who developed the ultra-limited $97,000 Python Green Chromaflair, for instance, available for the 911 Turbo S, back in 2017.

And it won’t be just the logo that will get the new finish. Porsche prepared it for the rear lettering and the side windows trim. Porsche found a fancy manner to call the area, the glass of the car: Daylight Opening (DLO). The aero blades and the wheels will also get it, depending on the model customers choose.

The theme will continue inside the cabin, with the badge on the steering wheel going for the same shade, and so will certain buttons on board such as the mode switch and the air conditioning control panel, the trim strips, and the belt straps. Door cards, instrument panel, and floor mats will be available in Turbonite if future owners go for a black interior.

The third-generation Panamera, set to debut on November 24, will be the first to receive the new look for its Turbo E-Hybrid variant, powered by the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, which operates alongside an electric motor for a combined output of more than 650 horsepower (659 PS) and around 665 lb-ft (901 Nm) of torque.

The electric range will be around 53 miles (85 kilometers), provided by a 25.9 kWh lithium-battery pack. The car will reportedly be able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in under 3.0 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 190 mph (306 kph). A more potent variant should drop sometime next year and both will get the Turbonite look.
