While many think the perfect muscle car has already been created during the ‘60s, others believe that such a thing doesn’t really exist.
And one way to make it happen could be by simply combining two existing models, even if at the first glance, they don’t necessarily have anything to do with the muscle car concept.

This is the idea that this rendering is actually based on, as it imagines a modern “muscle coupe” that’s based on a mix of two different models.

It’s really not that hard to figure out what these models actually as, as it’s very clear that the body is inspired from the Polestar 1 while also using some Volkswagen design cues here and there.

The artist who created this so-called “muscle coupe” explains on reddit that he indeed used the Polestar 1 as the starting point, while also adding some design elements that could be further enhanced by actual engineers should his idea ever make it to an actual drawing board. It goes without saying the chances of this ever happening, however, are extremely reduced, especially since it all comes down to Polestar and VW engineers working together on the same project.

I used the Polestar One as reference. The vents are either fake or are there to improve aerodynamics. I let that decision to the engineers,” he says in a message posted on reddit.

As others have noticed as well, the rendering still needs some additional polishing here and there, but overall, it’s still a solid design. While the sketch is called “muscle coupe,” it still lacks the typical muscle car feel of the models launched in ‘60s and the ‘70s, so it goes without saying that the drawing itself could be further improved specifically to add the signature look of muscle cars.

If anything, the rendering shows that combining two different models can actually lead to the creation of something that’s as surprising as it is cool, especially when the idea concerns the world of muscle cars.
