Adopting a tiny lifestyle is mostly about downsizing and living in a more sustainable way, but the freedom and enhanced mobility offered by tiny homes on wheels actually make this alternative housing solution an appealing prospect for more and more people. Especially those who love the feeling of living in a cabin on a quiet piece of land.
Settler, the latest tiny house crafted by Häuslein Tiny House Company, is exactly that kind of compact dwelling. It looks just like a charming mountain cabin on the outside and offers all kinds of modern amenities on the inside.

This is a single-story home that puts everything you need on the ground floor, but unlike other models that have a completely open-plan layout, the Settler does have some separation between areas and offers privacy where it counts. Not to mention, it is a highly efficient compact living space and includes the same level of luxury and comfort as a contemporary regular home.

With its charming aesthetic and the right balance between form and function, this tiny home on wheels encourages people to live more intentionally, invest more time in what matters the most, connect with their surroundings, and enjoy life in a more sustainable way.

Australia-based Häuslein Tiny House Company skipped the lofts altogether for this design but instead gave it a tall cathedral ceiling to make the space feel open and airy. Combined with a pitched roof, a double glass door, and various windows, they managed to make this single-floor tiny house feel huge.

Besides creating an intimate, warm ambiance for the residents, one-story tiny houses are a perfect fit for retirees, people with mobility issues, or those who just dread having to climb down the stairs in the middle of the night. And since tiny living is not just for daring souls anymore, it's good to have flexible designs like this one that can adapt to diverse needs.

Built on a galvanized, heavy-duty, double-axle trailer, the Settler measures 29.5 feet (9 meters) long and 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) wide. It is based on termite-resistant timber frames and features colorbond Trimdeck exterior cladding with Western red cedar accents, sealed with durable marine varnish. The black color of the exterior siding gives it an elegant, modern look.

For the interior, the builders used solid pine paneling on the walls and solid cypress pine for the flooring. Beautiful wood accents can be noticed throughout the house, like the bench tops, window frames, and barn-style doors, adding coziness and a tinge of rustic vibe to the design.

The layout includes a living room, kitchen, main-floor bedroom, and bathroom. A distinctive feature that makes the interior feel more spacious is the slide-out section in the living area that perfectly encapsulates the four-seat sofa. The placement of the couch is ideal for admiring the surrounding views through the glass doors.

Though compact, the galley kitchen is gorgeous and sophisticated. Besides generous storage inside the solid Rhino Ply cabinetry, beautiful countertops, and plenty of room to accommodate full-size appliances (including a stove, fridge, drawer dishwasher, and more), it also has a breakfast bar to increase its functionality.

The black stainless sink with clever in-sink drainer, under-sink pull-out bin, gray rock-style backsplash, and high-quality black fixtures enhance the contemporary, luxurious look of the cooking space.

The ground-floor bedroom lies behind a sliding barn door, and despite the space limitations, it is a modern, clean, and well-thought-out private space. It looks like a regular bedroom in a conventional house and fits a queen-size bed with integrated storage underneath. There is plenty of space to walk around the bed, and two tall wardrobes on either side provide additional storage space for clothes and other items.

Cypress pine shelves matching those in the kitchen can be observed above the bed, and they come with LED strip lights for an intimate atmosphere.

On the opposite side of the Settler, behind another barn door hides the bathroom. In line with the rest of the house, it has a modern look and is highly functional. It is fitted with a glass-enclosed shower cabin, a toilet (flush or composting options are available), a vanity unit with ceramic basin, and some shelves for toiletries and other tidbits.

The Settler tiny house on wheels is priced at AUS $146,000, which is equivalent to around $93,700. The clever layout and high level of functionality ensure a high standard of living and make this new model a true heaven on wheels for a single person or a couple looking to downsize without compromising on comfort and style.

Its charming design and luxury finishes also make it perfect for use as an Airbnb rental or vacation home. And Häuslein Tiny House Company says the team can further simplify the model if you want to use it as an office or studio.
