On October 9, 2013, the last BMW E8x generation BMW 1 Series went out of the Leipzig factory, thus putting an end to the predecessor of the 2 Series. The last car built was a Le Mans Blue E88 1 Series Convertible.
The 1 Series was in production for 6 years now and, over that period of time, over 150,000 units were built, paving the way for the new 2 Series that started production at the same plant, yesterday.
