Starting with 2014, BMW announced that it will be shutting down the deliveries and sales of E82/E88 1 Series models in the US. This comes barely as a surprise as the 2 Series is expected to pick up where these two left off, starting next year.
Furthermore, since BMW never introduced the F20/F21 hatchback 1 Series in the US, it was pretty obvious that the old models will be soon pulled back from the market.
According to an official press release, the production of the 1 Series Coupe ended in August whilst the Convertible model was pulled out of production in June. Therefore, until the 2 Series is officially unveiled in the US, a coupe compact car will be missing from the German's line-up.
The North American branch of the Bavarians also announced that all BMW and MINI models that will be bought from now on (MY2014) will benefit from a one-year subscription to SiriusXM's All Access Package (if they are equipped with satellite radio).
