BMW fans have always been keen on changing one or two things about their cars. That's probably why BMW tuning companies are the biggest ones in the world and the most respected.
The guys from Sportauto.de wanted to see if the changes they do to stock cars really work. For this test they took a Cartech modified BMW 125i Convertible and ran it on a proper racetrack.

The results were encouraging. The guys from Cartech claim that their version of the Bimmer has 10 extra HP (reaching a total of 228 HP) and that with all the other improvements it should be faster than the stock 1er.

The other improvements include different carbon parts like a new rear diffuser, front bumper lip, tailpipes and front flaps. Furthermore, the stock suspension has been replaced with a set of H&R springs that minimize the lateral inclination noticeably.

With all these new fancy parts, once on the Hockenheimring the car finished a lap in 1 minute 20.3 seconds, almost 2 seconds faster than a stock 125i so it seems like all those upgrades do work.
