The Jig Is Almost Up: Infiniti Reveals Fifth JX Teaser Image

MINI has the Countryman, which looks great and is built with car bits, BMW offers the X3 that’s very practical, and there are a whole load of other crossover on the market right now. So what can Nissan’s luxury division, which has never managed to shine, especially in markets like Great Britain, where the FX50 is probably rarer than an Aston Martin.

We are now in the fifth week of teasers for the Infiniti JX, and by now, we have found out absolutely noting about the technical details, but the carmaker has shown us just about every crease, bend, fold and wheel nu there is. With two more weeks of teasing to go, we expect them to show either the engine bay or the interior (or both).

For now, we’ll focus on the latest image to be releases, that of the back end. The seven-seater configuration didn’t allow designers much play room at the back, so the glass is a bit conventional, but that spoiler more than makes up for this. The tailings are very long, and extend across the boot lid and down the side toward the C-pillar.

Not much is know about the crossover that will be shown at Pebble Beach soon, other than the fact that it’s got room for seven in three rows, will be built in the US at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee plant. and will presumably take on the like of the BMW X5 and Mercedes M-Klasse.

Despite being only weeks away from its debut, the JX will only go on sale in 2012 as a 2013 model year. The Pebble Beach vehicle might be called a ‘concept’, with the production version coming to the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
