Infiniti JX Concept First Image Released

We were expecting for the teaser frenzy to begin by now, so we were not exactly taken by surprise when one by one, automakers started to release the first images of their future models or concept cars. So is the case with luxury brand Infiniti, which decided to treat us with a new concept model with seven-passenger seating.

Dubbed Infiniti JX, the concept you see in the adjacent image is destined to have its world public debut at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 18.

The new luxury crossover concept previews the production version of the 2013 Infiniti JX, which will make its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November, and is set to go on sale in the spring of 2012.

"Families don't have many luxury vehicle options today. The new Infiniti JX will be the 7-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now," said Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti Americas, in a statement for the press.

The company has also launched a new social media campaign dubbed "Power of 7" designed to initiate conversation about the JX Concept before its global debut. It will comprise seven images that will be distributed exclusively on Facebook every Thursday over the next seven weeks. In addition to that, fans of the Facebook page will get the chance to win a trip for two to join Infiniti at the vehicle's reveal at the Pebble Beach Concours.

Nissan’s luxury brand is also reportedly working on a another new concept that will join the JX and fight against the likes of Audi A3 and Lexus CT 200h. Likely to be based on the Etherea concept, it is expected to first show its face in Frankfurt this fall.
