Tesla Model S was named again, for a second year in a row, the “Best Overall” car to buy in 2015, according to Consumer Reports’ evaluation system, hitting back at those who criticized the electric sedan over the past months.
Needless to say, Tesla Motors, Elon Musk and the masterpiece called Model S have done it again. Consumer Reports named the EV “Best Overall” by describing it as “a technological tour de force, a high-performance electric vehicle with usable real-world range, wrapped in a luxury package”.

It gets even better, as the summary provided by Consumer Reports states that “for all of the impressive new vehicles released in 2014, none was able to eclipse the innovation, magnificence and sheer technological arrogance of the Tesla”.

Now, that’s an example of serious praise if you ask us, so we can think of two scenarios here: either the Model S really is an awesome machine - which we know it's true - or the guys over at Consumer Reports are madly, deeply in love with Elon Musk’s offspring.

In any case, the fact is that Tesla Model S was rewarded 99 points in the overall test score, but only managed to secure an “Average” (3 out of 5) in terms of reliability and scored 84 points in the overall MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) section.

The only drawback identified during evaluation was linked to “Tesla’s teething problems at launch” but otherwise, the Model S was received with a lot of enthusiasm. This victory comes for Tesla Motors after the magazine already found out that Tesla Model S customers are more satisfied with their new cars than those who decided to buy electric, gasoline or diesel.
