After many years of keeping things unchanged, Tesla is finally starting to experiment with new features. After the Cybertruck was spotted with bucket seats, the refreshed Model 3 Performance is also rumored to come with sportier seats.
Tesla has been warming up the same soup with its electric vehicles despite introducing slight modifications to its lineup. For years, the EV maker has been mocked for not offering simple features that are now common even in the cheapest car models on the market. With the launch of Model 3 Highland, Tesla showed that it got the memo and became more adventurous.

If we look at the refreshed Model 3's design, we see that it's miles away compared to the previous model despite being essentially the same car. It's hard to state the same about the refreshed Model S. The Model 3 Highland also introduces many features that customers have been asking for a long time. These include ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and a beefed-up sound system.

Another change introduced with the Model 3 refresh is the modified manual door release on the front doors. Instead of the old release flap placed next to the window buttons, Tesla installed an emergency release in the door pocket. This keeps it more consistent with the rear doors and also prevents people from accidentally opening the doors with the manual release by pulling the flap.

The ambient lighting is probably the cheapest to implement in existing cars, considering aftermarket kits sell on Amazon for less than $100. It's also the one feature that could offer the biggest improvement to the cabin atmosphere. Tesla is now shipping it with the refreshed Model 3, but other models will also get it soon. Hacker Green has revealed this after looking into the latest version of the Tesla software.

According to Green, ambient lighting will soon arrive on the Model S and Model X. This makes sense, considering how easy it is to implement. Another feature that will cross from one Tesla model to another is the bucket seats we first spotted on the Baja Cybertruck. Based on Green's findings, the Model 3 Performance will come with sports seats inspired by the Cybertruck. They offer bolstered side support to keep the driver and front passenger from sliding around during fast cornering. The integrated headrests look similar to the ones on the Cybertruck.

The refreshed Tesla Model 3 Performance has not yet been revealed by Tesla, although rumors about it have been floating around for quite some time. Even the name of the upcoming sportier Model 3 is unknown, as people speculated that Tesla might call it Model 3 Ludicrous or Plaid instead of Performance. A recent mistake in Tesla's Parts Catalog revealed a Model 3 rear with a badge resembling the Ludicrous Model on the Model S P100D. The picture was removed shortly after it made the rounds on social media.
