The guys from Tata Motors didn’t actually have the greatest success this last year but that doesn’t mean they are giving up. It appears the company has quite some plans and decided to host the world premiere of two new models, the Zest sedan and the Bolt hatchback at the 2014 Auto Expo in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR.
The two vehicles both incorporate the new 84hp 1.2-liter turbocharged "Revotron" petrol engine plus some interesting features such as a 5-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, an Electronic Power Assisted System with 'Active Return' function and speed sensitive power steering and an automated manual transmission (AMT) named "F-tronic" for the diesel unit.
Besides all of this, the cars are built on Tata’s XI platform, both being the result of a collaboration between three of the company’s design studios, one from Coventry (UK), Turin (Italy) and Pune (India).
Tata Motors seems to have big plans with Bolt and the Zest models, Tata passenger vehicles president, Ranjit Yadav saying that “ these cars have been engineered for global markets, through global teams across India, UK and Korea to set new standards in their respective segments.”
