We reported yesterday, that after PSA’s talks with GM had ground to a halt, due to the unstable economic climate of Europe, as a rumor, that they had begun talking with Tata Motors, in view of an ample cooperation between the two companies, which would have been mutually-beneficial.
However, now, both Peugeot and Tata have denied the rumor. Still, considering what Tata did to Jaguar-Land Rover, perhaps a connection to Peugeot would not have been such a bad thing for either brand. It would have also meant that the French brand could have re-entered the Indian market, which is currently on the rise and wants efficient and cheap diesel-powered cars.
PSA is still in trouble and if they don`t find a solution soon, they may start taking drastic measures to cut their losses, as Ford has done, as well as other manufacturers, but to a smaller extent.
