Suzuki Superbike Riders Now Drive Grand Vitaras

Suzuki’s UK division announced that it will support the World Superbike and British Superbike Suzuki teams by offering each rider a Suzuki Grand Vitara five-door SZ4.

The Grand Vitara is an ideal choice for the riders with a large luggage space for kit and equipment and excellent fuel economy and low emissions for an SUV,” stated the press release.

World Superbike (WSB) riders Leon Haslam and Sylvain Guintoli and British Superbike (BSB) riders Michael Laverty and Tommy Hill have already collected their Grand Vitaras from the Suzuki GB Head Office in Milton Keynes.

As Suzuki celebrates 25 years of the iconic GSX-R sports bike range in 2010, its superbike racing effort both on the world and national stage sees revitalised rider line-ups. In the world series, Leon Haslam joins the Alstare Suzuki Team as their first ever British rider, while 2009 Suzuki BSB rider and honorary-brit Sylvain Guintoli makes the step up as his team mate.  At home in BSB, the Worx Suzuki Team welcome back Japanese factory star Yukio Kagayama to ride alongside 2009 wild card rider and now full-time recruit Tommy Hill.  While in the Relentless Suzuki by Tas camp, 2007 British Supersport Champion Michael Laverty rejoins the team to ride alongside reigning National Superstock Champion Alastair Seeley,” stated the press release.

The Grand Vitara model has a 21-year history, with over 2.7 million units sold worldwide. At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Suzuki introduced a set of styling changes for the three and five door Grand Vitara models, with both versions incorporating a redesigned tailgate without spare wheel, a feature that makes the vehicles more suitable for urban use.
