The British division of Suzuki yesterday announced a new addition to the 2009 Grand Vitara range - a 1.9 DDiS engine which will become available on the SZ 5-door range. There are two trim levels available, SZ4 and SZ5, both of them boasting a wide array of features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, in-dash 6CD changer with radio, MP3 audio-compatibility and seven speakers, heated leather seats and automatic climate control air conditioning.
The newly-released Grand Vitara DDiS 5-door is already on sale in dealerships across the country with prices starting at £17,975 (20,500 euros) OTR for the SZ4 and £19,475 (22,200 euros) OTR for the SZ5 trim.
The 2009 Grand Vitara comes with minor styling enhancements, including a revised front end treatment and new door mirrors with integrated turn lights. Inside, the car comes with refreshed dashboard controls, including a new multi-information display (providing information on vehicle status, including fuel consumption, mileage and driving range) and revised AC control panel.
Safety features have also been revised, the most important addition being the ESP which is now offered as standard for the entire range. Additionally, Suzuki added rear disc breaks for the DDiS and 2.4l models and extra shock-absorbing elements around the bonnet, wings and front bumper.
Other highlights include six airbags, automatic air conditioning with pollen filter and 16-inch alloy wheels, with the SZ4 boasting an extra in-dash 6 CD changer with MP3 compatibility, rear privacy glass and 17-inch wheels.
