Suzuki Canada Won't Close Any Dealerships

Suzuki does not close dealerships in Canada 1 photo
Despite Suzuki reporting troubles in the US as far as the motorcycle business is concerned, things in Canada are different.
While Suzuki Motors of America will reduce their dealerships with around 10 % (98 dealers shut down, 832 still operating), Suzuki Canada declares they're not affected by the same economical performance problems as their southern neighbors.

Taylor Donnely of Suzuki Canada adds: “Suzuki Canada Inc. is a completely separate entity than American Suzuki Motor Corporation. We are completely independent of one another, and you will not see a rollback in dealerships for Canada.”

Now, that's good news for both Suzuki riders and Suzuki Motors: filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US with their automobile division and closing down 10% of the bike dealers is not the best of health signs.

However, we should also add that the 98 dealers to be closed down in the US only accounted for 2.5% of the retail figures over the last 12 months, as Larry Vandiver, sales and marketing senior director for Suzuki declared.
