The question in the title will ony seem natural after you're don reading this piece of news. A recent announcement states that tow Spanish bike builders, GasGas and Ossa will start sharing the same production facility in Salt, Spain.

While both brands are heavy into manufacturing trial bikes and are competing shoulder to shoulder in a lot of trial races, it's really interesting to see where will this lead. Fact is that Ossa (a brand crated by the grandfather of former MotoGP star Sete Gibernau) will start making bikes in the same place where GasGas are making theirs.

Ossa are currently producing around 9,000 bikes a year, and prospects for the production in GasGas' plant estimate 15,000 unit a year, with the number of employees rising from 130 to 200. Not much in terms of jobs in an unemployment-ridden Spain society, yet a whopping 50% increase for Ossa.

Now, back to the title... Ossa moving together with GasGas makes rather little sense, so we might expect that the future brings a fusion of the two, especially with GasGas doing well, and rumors of 2 new plants soon to open in South America and Asia.
