In a declaration yesterday Suzuki Motor Corp has made public that the automobiles branch in the US will imminently go out of business and will use a Chapter 11 bank bankruptcy filing in a federal California court.
The decision follows decreasing sales and a massive failure to raise the interest of the US customers for the Suzuki cars manifested during the last years. With a 5% sales decline over the 14% generic market increase, it's pretty clear that Suzuki's cars were not faring too well during 2012.

With a $346 (€271) million debt, the American Suzuki Motor Corp, plans to shift business to servicing the existing cars in the market and concentrate all their efforts towards the motorcycle, ATV and marine sectors.

While there are no official numbers on the motorcycle/ ATV market for Suzuki, we all expect that the company's efforts will be aimed to establishing an even better sales position, potentially trying to draw more customers via new, attractive products or hefty incentives.
