Suzuki has saved us the effort of actually trying to guess their lineup by actually announcing that their 2012 Geneva Motor Show offensive will be limited to a couple of cars that we’ve already seen. Yes, that means no global debut from the relatively small Japanese carmaker.
The Swiss venue will thus only be graced by a couple of European debuts, the electric Swift and the Regina Concept. Starting with the latter, this vehicle was unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and is a preview to a next generation small car for the global market. The focus here is on ultra-efficient engines and reducing the overall weight of the car as much as possible. That’s why, it only weighs 730 kg and is powered by a 0.8-liter turbo engine.
As for the Swift, that’s an updated version of the first Range Extender Concept seen first at 2010 Geneva show. It now has a battery range of 30 km, which is twice as food. Oddly enough, we think its the same Swift EV hybrid as seen in Tokyo, only with a different sticker down the side, judging by the fact that they have the same body and the same range.
