Some of you may not have heard of the Willys Coupe built in the 1930s and 1940s, as the company is now long gone. But they turned out to become pretty famous and the same thing can be said about the pickup version.
But not because they were outstanding roadcars when compared to those offered by Ford or General Motors, it was the drag racing scene that brought it such fame. Used on the drag strip by the likes of the Hills brothers or Ohio's George Montgomery, the Willys Coupe has a place of its own in the gasser hall of fame.

The pickup version is no less interesting, and a recent e-Bay find reveals that such classics are still around in good shape. This 1942 pickup reportedly because a racing machine in the late 1960s, when it was equipped with a 426 cubic inch Hemi V8 engine.

Now it's being powered by a supercharged 355 cubic inch small block Chevrolet and a manual Turbo 350 transmission. It has other upgrades as well, and a pair of utterly wide tires at the back, which are bound to produce some thick smoke. If you're in for some fun, you can have it for $27,000 or you can just add at the current $16,600 bid. Head over to the eBay auction for the full details and photo gallery.
