Coming straight from the “ridiculously powered” Toyota category, this older Mk3 Celica Supra packs over 900 horsepower under its long bonnet.
Seeing the clip, it really looks that it has all the right things for such huge amount of power: DOHC 6-cylinder engine, huge turbocharger, custom intake and some nitrous tanks in the boot. It also appears that its driver knows some (dangerous) tricks in order to squeeze just a bit more power from the car, as he is heating up the NOS tanks with a torch before the drag race, in order to increase the pressure inside.
Dangerous or not, the car managed to pull an 8-second run at the annual Bayou Drag contest at Hennessey’s quarter mile strip. Actually it was its first time achieving that performance.
