Subaru Backs Fight Against AIDS

The North American division of Subaru decided to get involved in the fight against AIDS and help those affected by the virus, by sponsoring the Dining Out For Life, a fundraiser held in nearly 3,000 restaurants in over fifty cities across the United States and Canada. That because in the U.S. alone, it is estimated that one-in-five individuals are unaware of his/her HIV status, and people over the age of 50 are the fastest growing group to contract the virus.

The one-day fundraiser is scheduled to be take place on April 29, when the participating restaurants will donate a generous percentage of proceeds from the day's meals to a local AIDS service organization.

Support for this event has grown thanks mostly to the Dining Out For Life Spokesperson Ted Allen, host of Food Network's primetime competition series Chopped. Allen will be joined by Pam Grier, actress, advocate and author of a soon-to-be released memoir Foxy-My Life In Three Acts.

Both will appear with Food Network's Jose Garces in a Public Service Announcement produced by Shooters. Additionally, singer Felipe Rose best known as the Native American Indian of The World Famous Village People, has volunteered to join the cause as Social Ambassador rallying supporters to Dine Out via social media.
