Any Shelby is a dream car as long as it drives, and with a little bit of work, you can own that perfect example that will trigger your obsessive need to keep it shining 24/7. But this Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, part of the previous-generation muscle car, won't shine no matter how much you polish it.
The pictures speak for the overall condition of this once-fine brute that was capable of making its occupants throw up every time the driver abused the loud pedal. It was involved in a crash at one point, hence the beat-up face, especially on the right-hand side, and something happened that led to a fire. Unfortunately, by the time emergency responders arrived at the scene, it was too late to save it. Hopefully, the driver walked away on their own.

This is our assumption of what happened, anyway, because there is no detail about this car whatsoever other than the fact that it is a 2022 model that's still waiting for its title. And we know what it will be, as no one can bring it back to life without probably spending more money than what a nice copy of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is worth. After all, we don't see anything that can be saved, as the entire exterior, the cabin, the underbody, and even the engine were completely ruined by the fire.

And what an engine it was. Valued at around $30,000, give or take, depending on the condition and how many miles it clocked over the years, the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 is very powerful. The output is rated at 760 hp (771 ps/567 kW), and the thrust is 625 lb-ft (847 Nm). A pristine Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 from the S550 generation is so agile that it can give supercars a run for their money. The zero to sixty miles per hour (0 to 97 kph) acceleration takes only three seconds, and you're looking at a car that can deal with the quarter mile in ten seconds.

Now, back to the wreckage pictured above, the vendor believes it's still a moneymaker. Thus, they're advertising it for an upcoming online auction, stating that it can be found in Northern Virginia. We don't know why anyone would spend a single buck on it, as there's nothing that they can do with it. Unless they're an artist with a great vision that requires the burnt shell of a Mustang Shelby GT500. This muscle car is listed for grabs on iaai, and the ad was updated a couple of days prior to writing this story. This is the part where we invite you to scroll down to the comments area and tell us what you would do with it if it ended up in your possession.
