Ferrari has so many interesting cars coming that we’d dare to call it a massacre if someone stands in their way. Probably the most important is the replacement for the 599 GTB Fiorano, which is supposed to come with a lighter chassis and a bigger engine producing 700 horsepower. They are also getting ready to put a new Enzo in your driveway if you’re super-rich, while the California will get a facelift.
But wait, there’s another contender for the title of the most interesting Ferrari coming, and it’s not because of its good looks. Our spy photographers have recently spotted this strange California test mule that has a bunch of mods made to its bonnet, and the they say they distinctly heard the sound of a turbocharger coming from that V8 lump of aluminum.
The bonnet features two of Ferrari’s usual air scoops, which were covered up while the car was going down the road. To stop it from overheating, the bonnet was raised ever so slightly. Once it got to the track, the full fury of forced induction was reportedly released.
