Kia's Cee'd was undoubtedly the most popular model ever released by the South Korean manufacturer and that's not a surprise at all. The compact offered good reliability, advanced efficiency and pretty decent equipment trim levels, all of them packed and offered with a quite low price tag. And because things went so good for Kia, the carmaker is keen to continue the Cee'd evolution with a brand new model to be launched in 2013.

What you're seeing here is actually the upcoming model snapped close to the parent manufacturer's German development center. Of course, expect several exterior styling enhancements and, although not much can be seen in these heavy camouflaged photos, Kia will most likely implement a new grille, a flatter windshield, as well as new mirrors and a rising waist line at the rear side doors.

Kia won't change too many things when it comes to the engines to power the future lineup, but some differences are possible in fuel efficiency and emissions. The same petrol and CRDi diesel units, with power output in between 90 and 126 horsepower will probably make it to production as well.

Although Kia refuses to talk about such a project, other, more fuel efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicles could also be released. As always, the first version that pops into our minds is a hybrid configuration, but nobody from within the South Korean manufacturer wants to discuss this possibility.

The car will debut, as we said, in 2013, but more information will probably emerge in the upcoming months, together with new spyshots and less camouflaged prototypes.
