As the brand in charge of all of the Volkswagen Group activities in India, Skoda is in the unique position to be at the head of the future of the local automotive industry in this new promised land. As such, expect to see a wealth of new cars being developed especially for this part of the world.
The first in this long line is a compact SUV that will enter production in a few year’s time. Before that happens, Skoda will show a concept study of the car at the Auto Expo in New Delhi starting February 5, 2020.

The concept car is oddly dubbed IN. The name takes after the platform that will be used for the car, MQB A0 IN, which will also underpin other VW Group vehicles in the region. This concept is the first to use it.

For now, just an interior sketch was released to show what we are to expect, and the only technical aspect that was revealed is the fact that the car will be 4.26 meters long.

The image of the Vision IN shows a layered dashboard, adorned with a three-spoke steering wheel with buttons, and a large free-standing central screen. The car uses VW’s digital cockpit concept, and was designed to run Skoda’s new operating concept.

The look of the interior, at least in this concept, is very vivid. That’s mostly thanks to the generous use of the color orange on the centre armrest, door panels, and even on the dashboard. Here, it contrasts even better with the chrome-plated ventilation nozzles.

There is no info yet on what powers the Vision IN.

India is currently in the same spot China was a while back. The country has great potential for growth, and is seen as one of the best places to be right now, when things are just beginning to take off.
