While alcohol and motorcycles are never a good combination, this does not apply if you’re in the grandstands of a MotoGP round and you feel like enjoying several pints (or more) while watching your fav riders race. So here’s one for the beer lovers: Thai beer maker Singha has become… drums rolling, the Official Beer of the FIM MotoGP World Championship.
Never seen this one coming, seriously, but writing about both MotoGP and beer sounds even more fun! The FIM, Dorna Sports and Singha have reached a global agreement which gives the Thai brewer exclusive rights to fill your glasses in certain territories. The Thai beer will also be available at the European rounds in the MotoGP VIP Village, with the exception of the Spanish rounds.

Established in 1933, the Boon Rawd Brewery Co, Ltd brewery is the first and biggest such enterprise in Thailand. Most likely starting with this weekend’s race at Jerez, we’ll get to see plenty of Singha branding around the MotoGP tracks through the season. Since Pau Serracanta, Managing Director of Dorna’s Commercial Area declared that Dorna “will enjoy a long and fruitful relationship with Singha over the coming seasons,” we can guess that the present deal is only for the current championship.

However, this is the first time when the MotoGP has an “official beer” and with this debut, we can hope to see better European beer involved in this, as well. Bittburger, London Pride, anyone?
