A lot is happening in the muscle car game these days. First and foremost, Dodge has an entirely new Charger in its lineup. It is the first and only electric proposal in this class, albeit with ICE variants set to join the offering later.
It is safe to say that the Stellantis-owned brand has stolen the muscle car show with the latest Charger (Daytona), and we're willing to bet our bottom dollar on the fact that Dodge is currently working on real successors to the Hellcat series and, who knows, maybe the Demon, too. After all, it would be impossible for them to refrain from launching extremely powerful versions of this ride.

Second, Ford has recaptured some of the muscle car crowd's attention with the brand-new Shelby Super Snake. It is the company's punchiest street-legal product yet and builds on the S650 generation (obviously). Power comes from the Blue Oval's Coyote V8, which was equipped with a supercharger. This, alongside other modifications, has led to a jaw-dropping output.

According to the Dearborn automaker, the all-new 2024 Shelby Super Snake boasts more than 830 horsepower (842 ps/619 kW) in its top form. It represents a 70+ hp (71 ps/52 kW) increase over the S550 Shelby GT500, which has 760 hp (771 ps/567 kW), taking around three seconds to reach sixty mph (97 kph) and dealing with the quarter-mile in ten seconds on a good day and with a skilled driver behind the wheel.

Those who think 830+ hp is a bit too much can order the 480 hp (487 ps/358 kW) variant. The output in this version may be identical to the regular Mustang GT. However, the Shelby-tuned muscle car brings additional goodies, like a tuned suspension, a Borla exhaust system, uprated brakes, and improved cooling. As a result, it will be a better driver's car in all aspects compared to the regular V8-powered GT.

Ford also has the GTD in the making, which will cost supercar money once it rolls out, and reports also speak of a brand-new Shelby GT500 version of the S650 generation Mustang. Naturally, with all the things happening in the brand's muscle car portfolio and the fact that the Mustang just turned sixty, some people are looking to tie their names to the hype. Case in point, let's move on to the real reason behind this story, which is a few renderings we recently stumbled upon.

Abomelecdesign shared these digital illustrations on social media. They imagine a NASCAR version of the latest iteration Ford Mustang built on the road-legal model—you know, just like they did back in the day. The muscle car sports numerous modifications, so it is ready for racing in the virtual realm. Some might argue that these renderings are simply pointless, yet we'd agree to disagree, as every petrolhead likes a street-legal machine that was turned into a real racer, right?
