Unfortunately, Dodge stopped production of the L-bodied Charger sedan and Challenger coupe when it came time to replace the 2023 model year with something newer.
Luckily for many Mopar fans, the two nameplates are still available in their current form, starting from $32,800 for the Challenger and $35,325 for the Challenger thanks to remaining inventory, but most likely, the 'Last Call' editions are not among them. As such, if you want something collectible, you will have to find it across the used car market, especially if you're gunning for an ultimate 1,025-hp (on E85) 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.

However, you won't find too many of them, and not just because there were just 3,300 production slots – some proud owners treat them exactly like Dodge intended to: as dragstrip racers rather than garage queens. But there is no need to take our word for granted because we have an eloquent example. Herman Young and his desire to make the Demonology channel one of the best for Mopar fans have led to the logical acquisition and racing of a blue Demon 170 – and, of course, he's been churning out racetrack content ever since. After he recently let his son give it a try, he's back with more 1/8-mile shenanigans from Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas.

During one of those slow nights when not much is happening at the track, his only opponents who were daring or foolish enough to approach him were two (Fox Body) Ford Mustang owners – and both the white and red examples were probably modded to new heights. Unfortunately for them, at least one of the owners thoroughly underestimated the Demon 170. There's even footage of the other racer talking to Herman Young and promising to give him the hit because "his car was much faster than mine (…) he didn't realize it's a Demon 170."

So, the first race easily puts the Blue Oval versus Mopar brawl into the proper perspective – the white (knight) Fox Body Ford Mustang comes out to play before dusk at the 2:20 mark, and the owner may have gotten so surprised by the monster Demon 170 that his car ceased to function and remained still halfway across the track's surface. Next up, at the 3:40 mark, we see the Ford Mustang dude strolling to Herman's Demon 170 and talking about the details of the next race.

At this point, his fans will probably start smiling and then laughing wholeheartedly at the thought of the modded Ford Mustang giving the hit to a Demon 170 with an experienced racer behind the wheel. However, that's exactly what happened, and while the Fox Body wasn't too shabby either, it still ended the race a few bus lengths behind! Well, so much for situational awareness, right?
