When we first heard about this, we couldn’t believe such a vehicle even existed. But it really does, and it’s the first one of only three Shelby Mustang GT500KR golf carts ever produced. It looks more like one of those models that film stars drive on movie sets, rather than a rough and ready cart for the green hills.

This custom creation is modeled (and named) after the 2008 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR, which is itself an homage to the 1968 original. This is the only one with a more powerful engine capable of pushing the golf cart to 60 miles per hour (98 km/h). According to the seller, it was created for Amy Bolan, a former president of Shelby Automobiles. It even sports a "Mustang Amy" logo embroidered on the driver's seat, a feature the seller advises keeping if you want "collector's value.”

The original plan was to build 100 of these special little Mustangs, at a targeted MSRP of around $25,000 (€19,000). This particular model is a prototype, costing more than $50,000 (€38,000) to build and features custom black paint, Shelby embossed seats with the licensed Shelby logo, special 205/30/12 tires with custom made Shelby rims and the licensed Shelby Logo, signed Shelby steering wheel with Shelby licensed Logo (carbon fiber) and a AM/FM/Stereo/CD Player.

The headlamps, parking lamp, turn signals, tail lights and horn are all in working condition. If you are a lover and collector of Shelby automobiles, this is a must-have for your collection. Currently there are 20 bids, with the top offer sitting at $15,200 (€11,550), but the reserve has not yet been met. There's not much time left on this auction, so interested buyers are advised to bid soon.
