Teen Trades Phone for Porsche

Sounds incredible, right? Well, it is, but it is also true. Sort of.

Steven Ortiz is a 17 year-old average Joe, from an average town in Cali. He comes from an average family, has average dreams and hopes and is surrounded by average friends. Yet, thanks to a witty mind and countless hours of staring at the computer screen, Steven managed to land himself a 2000 Porsche. And without paying a dime for it.

The whole adventure started for Steven not so long ago, back about two years or so, when an old phone he had caught his eye. Steven listed the phone on Craigslist, asking nothing in return. Instead, he spent five to six hours a day on the website trying to find something to trade the phone for.

In the end, Steven went for an iPod. After trading the phone for it, events started unfolding much faster. He traded the iPod for a dirtbike. He then stuck with dirtbikes for a period, until he managed to trade a dirtbike for a MacBook Pro.

The MacBook Pro turned into a Toyota 4Runner, which in turn was replaced by an off-road golf cart. Then, Steven went back to dirtbikes. He switched back to cars, until he got his hands on a 1975 Ford Bronco.

And then the Bronco frog turned into the Porsche princess. Now, Steven is looking to trade the 2000 Porsche for a... can you guess? A spaceship? A train? Megan Fox?

Hell, no. He wants to trade the Porsche for a... Cadillac Escalade. A move we don't really understand, but hey, the guy proved to be a genius so far...

PS. For the record, Steven's achievement is not the first of its kind. Canadian Kyle MacDonald pulled a similar stunt in 2005, starting out with a paperclip. At the end of the trading session, sort of speak, MacDonald ended up owning a two-story farmhouse.
