There's a new Mercedes-AMG GT out, which shares its construction with the latest SL Roadster, but it cannot compete with the Black Series based on the previous generation. Not yet, anyway.
As a result, we can understand your need for speed in a fast and modern car made by the three-pointed star, so we think this particular 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series could be perfect for you. After all, it is a barely-driven example with only 224 miles (360 km) on the odometer.

Courtesy of the aggressive aero that set it apart from the lesser models, this is one exotic model that stands out. It features a glamorous orange paint finish contrasted by a few black touches, and this combo was replicated on the inside, albeit inverted. It has black leather and Alcantara upholstery, orange contrast stitching and accents, and the usual amount of carbon fiber.

A lighter and more aerodynamic take on the regular two-door GTs from the previous generation, the GT Black Series has clever suspension and uprated brakes, too. It rides on a 19-inch front and 20-inch rear that were wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R rubber straight from the factory to aid traction every time its owner wants to take it to the racetrack, as it is, after all, a GT3 race-prepped machine for the road.

Its performance is boosted by the 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8. The flat-plane crank motor develops 720 hp (730 ps/537 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. The seven-speed DCT delivers everything to the rear axle. Ask Mercedes-AMG how quick the GT Black Series is to 62 mph (100 kph), and they will tell you it needs 3.2 seconds. They will also tell you that it will hit 124 mph (200 kph) in under nine seconds and top out at 202 mph or 325 kph.

When it came out a few years ago, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series used to retail from $325,000 in the United States. More recently, we stumbled across certain examples that were listed for around $500,000. Advertised by Mecum, it is part of the lots going under the hammer at the Kissimmee auction in January, from 2 to 14, and you are looking at one of the stars of the event.

It is unknown how much this GT Black Series will fetch, but given that previous copies found for grabs were valued at roughly half a million dollars, it should go for a similar sum, as it is a very low-mileage example that looks showroom fresh. That money could get you well over four brand-new SL Roadsters, five GT 4-Door Coupes, or two Maybach S-Class luxury sedans. Or maybe three G 63 super SUVs if you're into hot high riders.
