The Dodge Viper is a sight to behold with output that matches the looks. Sometimes, maybe, it is just way too much for those who end up driving it. This is how cars in good condition end up being sold for car parts. We've got one here.
It is a fifth-generation 2014 Dodge Viper GTS in Viper Red with Racing White stripes. Well, the Present Tense is not exactly appropriate in this situation. Because this car is more of a Past Tense situation.

The model is totaled, and all the owner can do now is sell it for parts. There is still a lot on it that will bring some pretty penny. But, well, they could have gotten a lot more for the entire car. If it still was in one piece, which is obviously not the case.

This Viper GTS right here has got its front end almost entirely wrecked. It looks like some monster bit it off. The left headlight is gone, and there is no front radiator grille or anything else left of that front fascia. There is no word on what is left of the engine, but it can't possibly be in good shape. It is probably in some scrap yard already, unless they could actually salvage some components.

The airbags were deployed, so not much is left of that beautifully designed steering wheel either. The owner must have already taken the shift knob out, and the air vents are gone as well. But the Sabelt Premium Leather Seats in cognac leather are still on board, and so are the armrest and the headliner in Alcantara.

The rooftop, the rear window, and the trunk lid seemed to have survived, and so did the 19-inch Y-spoke wheels on the rear axle. But there is no trace of them on eBay, where AZ Cycle Parts is selling what is left of the car. So they probably must have already found a buyer.

The driver's door has been pierced, and the mirror on that side is hanging. The rear bumper has a hole in it on the left side, too.

When it wasn't in pieces, this car came with a massive 8.4-liter V10 all-aluminum engine, mated to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, which had to manage 640 horsepower (649 PS) and 600 lb-ft (814 Nm) of torque. The Dodge Viper GTS could do 0-60 mph (0-97 mph) in 3.4 seconds and could run the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds. Top speed was capped at 206 mph (332 kph). So when you check out the figures, you might get to understand why there are so many Dodge Vipers on the salvage car market.

Gone are the days this car right here could comply with those specs. Now, it ended up on eBay as a parts donor. There is no word on what happened to the model, but we sure hope that everyone on board walked away unharmed.

It is yet so sad to see that all that is left from a fifth-generation Dodge Viper GTS is reduced to a body shell on sale for $15,000, some bolts for $199, the seat belts for $199.99, and the manual for $629.99.
