Renault has been leading the charge to supply affordable electric vehicles to both commercial and individual users. Now, according to Le Figaro, they will supply up to 15,600 electric vehicles to the French postal services and the government.
Of the total, about 10,000 will go the Le Poste while the other 5,600 are expected to make their Zero Emissions presence felt at other government-owned companies. The full details should be made officially available in a couple of weeks at most, after some legal paperwork is dealt with.
"The results of the request for proposals are not known yet. They were supposed to be unveiled mid-October," a Renault spokeswoman said, according to Automotive News.
The French newspaper also said that PSA/Peugeot-Citroen could also be awarded a contract to supply 3,900 electric vehicles.
