Renault Twingo Gordini 100 Details Released

French manufacturer Renault has announced an expansion to its new Gordini line of vehicles, following the introduction of the Gordini versions of the Renaultsport Twingo and Clio earlier this year. The new addition to the range is the Twingo Gordini 100, a model meant to build on the success of its peers.

The Twingo Gordini 100 is powered by the 1.2 TCe (Turbo Control Efficiency) petrol engine which develops, astonishing for its size, 100 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. The unit is enough to propel the model to a top speed of 117 mph (188 km/h).

The body of the model is wrapped in the Gordini paint we are already used to. The customers will however have three paint choices: Malta Blue, Pearlescent Black and Glacier White. To set it apart from the regular Twingo, the model comes with twin racing stripes with G badging across the bonnet, roof and tailgate, gloss black front and rear bumpers, extra-tinted rear windows and tailgate and discreet Gordini Series badging.

At the interior, the Twingo Gordini 100 features dark carbon cloth seats with embossed Gordini logo and white stitching, blue door trim inserts with white stitching and blue leather-trimmed steering wheel.

Equipment levels for the Twingo mean that future customers will benefit from gadgets and features like RDS radio with single CD MP3 player, Bluetooth, air conditioning, 15-inch ‘Turini’ alloy wheels, cruise control, electric windows, speed limiter and independent sliding and folding rear seats.

The car will become available on the UK market in January next year, for prices starting at GBP11,395 (EUR13,500, $17,950).
