In an effort to offer the new Megane Sport Tourer at a lower price, Renault recently introduced a new version called Extreme in the United Kingdom that comes with a price tag of 14,935 British pounds. The car will be offered in two versions, 1.6 100 and 1.5 dCi 86, and will arrive in dealerships across the country in January.
Standard features will include a 4x15W radio RDS CD system with AUX input, air conditioning, ESP, Renault keycard and front electric windows.
The Megane Sport Tourer range is available in the UK with prices between £15,485 to £22,785, making it some £300 less expensive than some of its rivals like Ford Focus Estate or the Vauxhall Astra Estate.
The range comprises a total of four engines: the 1.4l TCe (Turbo Control Efficiency), which develops 130 hp and the 140 hp 2.0 VVT CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), the 2.0 dCi (160 hp) FAP and 2.0 TCe (180 hp).
There are multiple versions available, including the Expression, priced at £15,485 and equipped with 4×15W RDS radio CD, air conditioning, front and rear curtain airbags, ESP, electric windows, keyless car with Renault card and longitudinal roof bars. The top-of-the-range edition is the Privilege which dual-zone climate control, electric folding mirrors, electro-chrome rear view mirror and rear armrest with storage.
A separate version, TomTom Edition, is sold as well and is based on the Dynamique flavor. In addition to the features of the latter, it adds, for an additional £360, Renault's Carminat TomTom. Taken separately, as an option, the system will cost £450.
