Land Rover has been making history with the Range Rover ever since the first generation rolled out the line in 1970. This model is considered to be the first premium high-rider, so it has certainly left its toll on the automotive world over the last 50+ years.
Looking a bit too soft and sharing its MLA-Flex construction with the L461 Range Rover Sport, the latest generation Range Rover is about to blow two candles off its birthday cake. It still features V8 firepower, alongside a straight-six, a pair of diesels, and a plug-in hybrid assembly, depending on the market, and it's still a favorite of the jet set, albeit alongside other luxury and exotic crossovers.
Since it is still a very important model in the segment, the new Range Rover has been tuned multiple times. Most aftermarket specialists that mean something in this game have numerous components on their shelves for it. Whether we're talking about a new set of wheels, a custom body kit, a reupholstered interior, or a power boost, name it, and you're only a few mouse clicks away from it.
As you can imagine, this model has also attracted Mansory's attention. The controversial tuner has already maimed several copies, and the latest does not look that controversial. Still, that is because it features a black paint finish contrasted with a beige roof, and since all luxury cruisers look good in this hue, so does this one – save for the custom body kit.
If you look closely at the images Mansory shared on social media, you will notice the fender flares, side skirt attachments, all sorts of add-ons at the front, a new vented hood, an aggressive diffuser, and a rather large spoiler. It also has extra DRLs integrated into the front bumper, Mansory logos that have replaced the OEM ones at both ends, and new wheels that look very Rolls-Royce-y.
On the inside, it has new brown upholstery wrapped around most touchable surfaces. Mansory's emblem can be seen on the new treadplates, steering wheel, floor mats, gear shifter, pedals, and probably on the headrests, though these are not visible in the pictures they released.
Unfortunately, Mansory didn't have much to say about this tuned Range Rover, so we couldn't tell you if it puts a bit more power under the driver's right foot. We also don't know if it was modified at the request of its owner or if it is looking for a new home, yet we lean towards the former, as the tuner would've likely mentioned it in the caption.
Overall, this isn't the ugliest Range Rover we've seen, and it's not the prettiest either. Thus, it falls into the Purgatory of tuned cars for us. But what is your take on it?
