The hatchback version of the first ever car model from the rather new Chinese-Israeli manufacturer Qoros Auto has arrived at the Geneva Motor Show 2014, and we think it's actually not bad looking at all in real life.
As some of you know, both the Qoros 3 and the Qoros 3 Hatch in the adjacent photo gallery are pretty much what happens when an Israeli billionaire gets together with a Chinese car manufacturer and a German designer.
Penned by ex-Opel, Volkswagen and MINI designer Gert Hildebrand, both its exterior and interior have a number of details which may seem a bit too familiar for some people, but the overall look is pretty well put together for a Chinese car.
The Qoros 3 sedan - which was also launched at the Geneva Motor Show but in 2013 - made headlines last year when it became the first ever Chinese car to achieve a five-star safety rating at Euro NCAP crash tests, also topping the score sheet for safety of any car tested until that point and crowned the “safest car” of 2013.
Since the Qoros 3 Hatch shares everything with the sedan apart from its rear design and luggage compartment, it is safe to say that it will probably get the same safety rating during a crash test.
Also shared with the sedan are the two 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines, which develop 126 hp in naturally-aspirated form and 156 hp when fitted with a low-inertia turbocharger.
All in all, the Qoros 3 Hatch might steal quite a large share of sales from the usual suspects in the budget compact segment from Europe, especially if the pricing is kept right for what is offered.
