If we were to discuss automobile safety, we would probably think Volvo, BMW or Mercedes, but you’ll be surprised to know that this time around, a vehicle from Qoros Auto stepped into the lime light.
Yes, it seems that the Chinese automaker brought forth the Qoros 3, a sedan that managed to get the highest mark on Euro NCAP’s 2013 Adult Occupant Protection program that took place in September.
We have to admit that it’s pretty impressive to have a Chinese car do so well in the Euro NCAP crash test and actually become the safest of its category (Small Family). If we were to quote NCAP, the vehicle’s passenger cell proved itself to be “extremely robust” and successfully passed all the collision tests.
This lead to NCAP designating the Qoros 3 Sedan as the safest car in that time period. Quite the achievement for the Chinese automaker, the vehicle becoming the first car made in China that actually managed to get 5 stars in the Euro NCAP program.
Volker Steinwascher, Vice Chairman of Qoros, said: “The Euro NCAP result demonstrates the high level of design, engineering and production quality that we have achieved with the Qoros 3 Sedan. Reaching these very challenging world-class standards – not just in safety, but in every attribute of the car – was an objective from the very beginning and it is very satisfying to gain recognition for our endeavours.”
