When it comes to the French cars, branding and heritage are both very important, and it looks like Peugeot has something cooking in the pots, ready to bring back names from the past with technology from the present.
Last week, we put all our chips on the number ‘208’ and said they were teasing the successor to the 207 in their video, which only gave us a magic marker shape to look at. One of Autocar’s recent reports suggest we were on the money with the guess, as they say a GTi version, evoking the legendary 205 GTi.

There will likely be two configurations of the car, both using the 1.6-liter engine in the Citroen DS3. The first will have about 155 hp and the more powerful version will have 204 hp.

Peugeot has been playing the limited edition game very well with their hybrid diesel engines and they should make just a few of the racier version in case it doesn’t sell as well.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
