Next-Generation Peugeot 208 Very Early Rendering

There are a lot of rumors surfacing the new-generation Peugeot 208 but there are no official details for the time being, other that it may arrive in late 2011 or early 2012. However, what we have here is the first photo showing the upcoming Peugeot 208: a 2-door model with redesigned front fascia, restyled headlights, a larger grille and a more aerodynamic body.

The fog beams are now placed in the outer edges of the new front bumper. The car also boasts large alloy wheels and body-colored exterior mirrors plus a large panoramic roof.

Nevertheless, we can't know for sure if the new 208 will indeed look like the one in the photo so we guess we still have to wait a bit more until the company releases some officials specs of sketches of the new model.

Meanwhile, the French manufacturer is involved in what seems to be the toughest battle it could get in Europe. We're talking about the small-car class which is getting more crowded with every new day. For example, Peugeot 207 is now fighting with the new Renault Clio for the supremacy of this particular segment, with the guys over at Renault being very confident that their new model will win the duel.

"We think we have developed a product that can take on Peugeot's 207, and anyone else for that matter," Renault's director for the small-car segment Yves-Eric Morel told Automotive News Europe.

"The new design, the new features, and the touch of sportiness associated with the Renault Sport models will give us advantages over the 207, and the rest of the competition."
