Many wondered if you could jumpstart the Cybertruck in case the battery depletes completely, given its 48-volt system. The owner's manual offers the answer to this question and many others, proving a precious resource for Cybertruck owners and those planning to order one.
Even though Tesla started the Cybertruck deliveries two months ago, it doesn't mean it revealed all its secrets. Tesla published only a limited set of specifications, leaving everything else to the imagination. In some cases, this worked out to its advantage, obscuring some of the Cybertruck's teething problems. In others, not so much, as many exciting features remained unknown. Thanks to its owner's manual leaking online, we now know many new things about the electric pickup truck.

The Cybertruck's operating manual is still not published online, but it's installed in the truck's infotainment system. As many new owners took delivery of their Cybertruck's, it was only a matter of time until somebody recorded all the entries in the in-car manual in the infotainment system. This time, T Sportline did it, but it could've been anyone, actually.

The YouTube channel, which specializes in tuning and modifications for Tesla EVs, posted a 38-minute video showing every page in the Cybertruck's manual, knowing that it might be "the most boring video." Still, it's a golden mine for many people who want to learn more about the Cybertruck. Apart from every specification and technical detail, the manual also offers insights into how many of its features work.

Jumpstarting the Cybertruck with a 12-volt battery might indeed be possible

Despite rumors that the Cybertruck might have an 800-volt, 900-volt, or even a 1,000-volt high-voltage system, the Cybertruck's manual reveals that its battery pack works at 700 volts. This makes sense, considering that the charging voltage should always be higher. By splitting the pack in two and connecting the two modules in series or parallel, the Cybertruck can charge at 400-volt or 800-volt DC chargers.

Its low voltage system works at 48 volts, which is why it's called "medium voltage" instead. With the switch, many wondered whether you would be able to jumpstart the truck when the battery depletes completely. It turns out that you can, and in a much more clever way than everyone thought. Specifically, you can use either a 9-16.5V power supply or a 30-50V one to jumpstart the Cybertruck. Thus, it's perfectly possible to use a 12-volt battery or power supply to do the trick in case you run out of battery.

The dual-voltage system means that Tesla uses a DC-DC converter that self-adjusts based on the input voltage. To access the contact terminals for the external power supply, you need to loosen the cover in the front-left wheel well behind the headlights. You should find two terminals, with the red one being the positive and the black one being the negative terminal. It's unclear whether you can use the external power supply to charge the Cybertruck's 48-volt battery or only to open the frunk.
