Opel Meriva Design Edition Now Available

The Meriva, which was introduced in the current form and shape at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, has already exceeded the 120,000 units sold mark, which made it a top seller in its segment. Due to this great popularity, German automaker Opel decided to introduce a Design Edition of its small monocab, which draws inspiration from the Corsa Color Edition.

The Design Edition adds a high-gloss black roof, tinted headlamps with AFL adaptive lighting, fog lamps, deep tinted and thermally insulated rear windows, as well as 18-inch bi-color alloy wheels.

Available in five exterior colors (Casablanca White, Magma Red, Technical Grey, Star Silver and the brand new, warm Henna), the Meriva Deisgn Edition is priced starting starting from €19,570.

Standard equipment on the Meriva Design Edition includes air conditioning, CD radio, on-board computer, a leather steering wheel, electric power windows front, electrically adjustable rear-view mirrors, cruise control, and the innovative FlexRail center console storage.

Safety wise, the Meriva has received a five star rating from Euro NCAP. The small monocab from Opel is equipped with three-point safety belts for all five seats, front and side airbags for both front passengers as well as head curtain airbags in front and rear. The Pedal Release System is used to decouple the pedals in the event of a frontal collision, while the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) featured as standard.

The 2011 Opel Meriva has an engine line-up comprising three gasoline and two diesel units, ranging from 75 hp to 140 hp. All of them comply with Euro 5 emissions standards.
