Opel's lineup of cars might seem like some old, same old at first glance. But the Germans have actually revitalized their brand to some degree with younger designs.
It used to be the case that small cars were primarily cheap and ugly, but not any more. Opel has taken a page straight out of the Fiat 500's design manual and invented their first posh city car.

We met up with ADAM last year at the Paris Motor Show and recognized it was indeed a svelte little machine. Now, this German two-door has official recognition as one of the best designs on the market.

The urban lifestyle that was infused into its shape won it the coveted Red Dot Design Award. The last Opel to win this was the Astra GTC coupe, which shares some of its character and lines.

“We seamlessly continue our tradition of ‘red dot design award’ victories of the last years with our new lifestyle car and make a strong statement in terms of innovative power,” says Niels Loeb, Opel Chief Designer Exterior. “With our ADAM, we once again show that we can offer superb design in every passenger car segment and for every taste.”

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
