The station wagon with the best Cx in the world, as Opel claims, it is nothing more then an extended version of the Opel Astra hatchback. There are a lot of good news about this. First of all, it means that you can always take the Sports Tourer and pretend it is a regular hatchback, but with a bigger trunk. How much bigger? Well, the Sports Tourer has 540 liters (19 cu-ft) with all the seats up, but will triple its volume if the rear seats are folded down, reaching a small utility van storage room with its 1630 liters (57.5 cu-ft) available.

The engine lineup available comprises a 1.2-liter gasoline engine with 75 hp and goes up to a 1.6-liter turbocharged direct-injected gasoline engine with 200 hp.

For the diesel powerplants, the Astra Sports Tourer also features 1.5-liter engines with 110hp and 122 hp. Both are coupled with manual transmissions.

The Astra Sports Tourer introduces InteliLux LED matrix lights for the headlights, a novelty for its segment.

Inside, there is room for five with more headroom for the rear passengers than in the Astra hatchback. A comfortable ride is ensured by the same Watt's linkage rear suspension. For the driver, the most important elements are the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system ,which can do screen mirroring and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
