We knew Skoda's Rapid sedan was worthy of praise and is likely to be among the top-three selling models this year. We quite enjoy looking at its tall boot and its simply yet elegant shapes, and apparently, so do professional designers.
The Rapid sedan has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, a sixth such accolade for the Czech carmaker. The automaker says describes their lines as being "clear, precise, fresh and emotional" and as the gods of family cars are our witness, they're quite right.

“The Skoda Design Team and I are very happy about this award. We have put lots of work and dedication into the development of the new Skoda design language, and the ŠKODA Rapid is our first series car to feature this new design,” says Jozef Kaban, head of design at Skoda. “For us, this award is a great recognition of our effort.”

The award presentation ceremony will be held at the Aallto-Theater in Essen, Germany, on July 1st, 2013 and will feature a Skoda Rapid on display.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
