We were manually cruising (yes, we tried hand-walking) though the New York Auto Show, when two special incarnations of the Chrysler 200 caught our eye. We are talking about the new “S” trim level for the 200 saloon and convertible.

This is a visual-only package, destined at making the vehicles sexier, targeting the exterior and the interior of the cars. The exterior has been gifted with exterior mirrors and door handles finished in the same color as the body, darkened headlamps, as well as with a black front grille. The pack also includes a set of 18-inch lightweight rims.

As for the interior, this has received suede inserts for the front seats (these are also heated), a leather finish for the steering wheel, embroidered “S’ logos on the front headrests, as well as (these are sedan-only features) a special suede door triming and a black headliner. The in-can-entertainment has been enhanced with the help of a Boston Acoustic system that delivers 276 watts and uses a 30 Gb hard drive, allowing you to invite CDs, DVDs and MP3s to the party.

You can order the S trim level for the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine, which means that you’ll get 283 hp nd 260 lb-ft, delivered through a six-speed automatic tranny.

Of course, we must also mention the financial part of the deal (we are trully sorry if this ruins any fantasies). The 200 S saloon can be yours for $26,790, while the 200 S convertible comes with a price of $32,490.
