Nissan Planning Hotter Juke Nismo

Nissan created the Juke Nismo as somewhat of a stepping stone between the regular Juke, and the ultra-hot Juke-R, which is actually a Juke body placed atop a shortened GT-R platform, complete with running gear and engine.
Now, though, the Japanese automaker wants to make an even hotter version of the Juke Nismo, with up to 230 hp! It will retain the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which will get a power hike to around 220 to 230 hp, and around 300 Nm of torque.

Sadly, only the front-wheel drive version of the car will be available with manual gearbox, and buyers of the all-wheel drive variant will have to make do with a CVT. Other enhancements include stiffer suspension, lots of badging, and possibly a new body kit and different alloy rims, as well as new colour options.

However, we say the hotter Juke Nismo will still not be as enticing a proposition as it should be, simply because of that CVT gearbox which simply spoils it for us. It`s not that it`s a bad gearbox, but we would have preferred a manual gearbox on the all-wheel drive variant, or at least a proper automatic, to get some kind of feel and feedback from the more powerful engine.
