The Nissan GT-R might be flooded with mechanic and electronic systems that allow it to perfectly adapt to the driving conditions, but no gimmick can help you deal with the dangers of using the wrong fuel.
This is exactly what a GT-R owner in New Jersey has done. The man wanted to fill up his Godzilla after Hurricane Sandy hit, so he grabbed a can of fuel - he had packed multiple cans in his garage - brimmed the tank, started the car and realized that he had put diesel, not petrol, in.
Did disaster strike? Fortunately no. The car was taken to an auto shop on November 2nd, with the specialists flushing the fluids. That’s it, it all ended there and the car worked well subsequently.
It would’ve been much worse if petrol had gotten into a diesel engine, but the consequences for the GT-R could’ve been far more severe if the engine had run for a longer while. Fortunately, Godzilla is fine now.
