Why would anybody drag race a Nissan GT-R against a Dodge Demon? Well, the answer depends on the state of the Japanese machine. So, if the R35 is stock, this doesn't stand a chance against the Mopar machine, but that doesn't take away the fun delivered by the battle.
And we've brought along a piece of footage that showcases such a drag race, one that saw the Demon coming across a GT-R during a drag strip stint.

We won't go further into the details, as we don't want to ruin the giggles delivered by the drag race.

Returning to the point we made in the intro, we have to tell you that things are extremely different if we are to talk about drag races between modded incarnations of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Nissan GT-R.

You see, in stock form, the GT-R is an 11-second car, while the Demon is a 9s machine, even though many runs of the latter result in low-10s adventures. While we're at it, we'll remind you that Demon drivers are still struggling to match the official 9.65s quarter-mile time, with the best stock run to date sitting at 9.8 seconds.

On the tuning front, the Dodge Demon has managed to descend into the 8s arena, albeit with monstrous mods. To be more precise, the example that achieved this had left its supercharger behind for a twin-turbo setup, while packing a 600 lbs carbon fiber diet.

As for the Nissan GT-R, though, this is one of the most poplar platforms of the drag racing universe. And, after a decade of tuning evolution, tuned GT-Rs have now reached 6s land.

P.S.: While the Dodge Demon vs. Nissan GT-R battle we mentioned above awaits you at the 8:50 point of the clip below, you should know we're dealing with a mix here. In fact, the clip also shows the muscle beast battling other imports, such as a twin-turbo Acura Integra and a boosted Honda Civic. Spoiler alert: the Japanese toys make a lot of noise.
