The 992 incarnation of the Porsche 911 is set to make its debut by the end of the year, so it's no wonder that prototypes of the Neunelfer are showing up across the world. And the latest test car sighting has taken place on the Autobahn.
Based on how this tester looks, we're dealing with a Carrera or Carrera S doing its thing on Germany's highways. And speaking of the visual side, we'll remind you that a blue prototype was recently spied uncovered, revealing almost all the design details of the 992 generation - we added the said spyshots to the image gallery above, so you can zoom in on the little details.

As for the cabin, the greatest change will come from the dashboard, since the center tacho will remain analog, while this will be flanked by screens maintaining the traditional five-instrument layout while possibly also serving other functions.

Nevertheless, the most important transformation brought by the generation change is the hybridization, which has already been confirmed by the German automaker.

We could expect to see a triple-effect of the move, starting with a starter-generator providing up to 20 hp of electric assistance as part of a 48V system and, of course, a hybrid model delivering Carrera S levels of power, with a focus on efficiency.

Then again, Porsche could also offer a 911 Turbo S E-Hybrid, which would deliver around 700 hp, but the weight limitations mean such an all-out performance plug-in hybrid may or may not show up.

Despite the Porsche 911 introducing a new evolution of the PDK tranny, the manual is here to stay. And our guess is that the same will happen to the naturally aspirated flat-six motor powering the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, as well as the upcoming 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Boxster Spyder.

Meanwhile, we'll remind you that the Turbo and possibly the GT3 incarnations of the 992 have also been spied.
